Olivia's World 'Greedy & gorgeous' Album Tour w/ Sylvia + PROPERTY
Olivia's World (NSW) at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 26th April, 2025 @ 8:00pm
with Property and Sylvia
Olivia's World is proud to present their debut full-length album 'Greedy & gorgeous', the band's third release following their two EPs 'Olivia's World' (2019) and 'Tuff 2B Tender' (2021). In 'Greedy & gorgeous', a quasi-concept album about desire, Olivia's World inhabitants deal with the woes of pleasure-seeking and a never-ending quest for beauty.
Join Olivia's World across April & May 2025 as they loudly re-enact their new LP songs across their first proper East Coast Australian tour.
They are joined in Naarm/Melbourne by Sylvia + PROPERTY. With two exquisite EPs executed in the past few years, 'sylvia EP' (2022) and 'EP II' (2024), Sylvia are masterful shoegazers propelled by thick powerpop guitars and romantic ‘90s vocals. FFO Yuck, Velocity Girl, No Sister. Art punk lyricists PROPERTY write distorted, synth-driven lore which have famously given dedicated punters 360-degree neck rotation abilities. FFO Drahla, SLUTEVER, SELF IMPROVEMENT.
Rooted in escapist reality, Olivia's World is a Brisbane via Vancouver via Canberra slacker rock project, now based in Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2017 during a two-year minimum wage sabbatical in Canada's West Coast, Olivia’s World came to fruition after a last-ditch effort for a drummer resulted in the recruitment of frontwoman Alice Rezende’s longtime musical hero–indie pop legend Rose Melberg.
Based in Australia since 2019, Olivia’s World is a conduit for collaboration and has included a rotating roster of musicians. Original members Alice Rezende (Go Violets, Tempura Nights) and Joe Saxby (These Guy, Big Bad Echo) are now joined by Jordan Rodger (TV Colours, Wives, Soft Toy) and Dirk Jonker (Bloods). While 'Greedy & gorgeous' fits snug into the greater Aussie scene–with clear nods, as Canberran music critic Aaron Crowe puts it, to “dolewave pop”–, there’s no denying Olivia’s World’s ability to break the mold. The project still honours their life-long love of vintage twee, all the while charting through their own journey in the fractured squabble of the modern music landscape.

General Mack’s Grapeshot ‘Revel Revel’ Launch
GENERAL MACK'S GRAPESHOT at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 12th April, 2025 @ 8:30pm
with Wild Dog Mountain and Tallulah Grace
Tickets via OZTIX
Multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer General Mack’s Grapeshot (GMG)'s debut album Revel, Revel was mixed by local producer Robert Muinos (Didirri, Julia Jacklin, Jess Locke, Nat Vazer), the two connecting over an appreciation for bold mixing selections, and was written, recorded, produced, and performed by McIvor. The album was tracked during excursions to Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. The space, time, and seclusion allowed hours of experimentation with sounds and recording techniques. There are guitar-drenched moments, familiar with McIvor’s previous work but the accompanying rhythm section is layered with drum loops and applies synth bass and cinematic textures to several songs.
General Mack’s Grapeshot allowed Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Mitchy McIvor to deliver his long-term intention of producing his own music. Having played in numerous bands in Melbourne and LA, including Cannon and Damndogs, Mitchy McIvor drew on the familiar guitar drenched moments from his previous work to create cinematic textures with drum loops and oscillating synth bass. General Mack’s Grapeshot’s draws on dominant production techniques inspired by the works of Beck, The Kills, St Vincent, Danger Mouse, Serge Gainsbourg, and the War on Drugs.

Sunday 6th April, 2025 @ 2:00pm
with Toby May (UK/Switzerland)
Tickets via OZTIX
60s' French Girl Pop or Classic Australian Songs ... Why Choose? Hannie Journée et le Yé-Yé Nouveau present a charming mash-up of the Australian Songbook sung in French, in the timeless style of 60s' French Yé-Yé pop.
It all began when Hannie Journée (Hannie Day) was playing her father (Greg Arnold - Things of Stone and Wood) some yé-yé songs as they drove across France and he noted that it shared a vibe with The Easybeats, and from there came the light bulb moment ... why choose? Why not put those OZ-French vibes together? So, on April 6 at The Fitzroy Pinnacle, they will debut the idea in gig form.
Joined by Luci Floyd on BVs and Vocals (Gush) and Luke Singleton on Drums (Are Drummers Musicians?), it will be one-part indie super group, one-part French chic quartet and one-part good old daggy family band!
There'll be dancing, there'll be classic songs that will surprise in their nouveau context but ultimately, there'll be fun, fun, fun, or as we always say ... Le Fun (or at least what we say, once, in our press release) Seeya there, Nos Amis!
