ØTRERA 'Silverwing' EP LAUNCH - The Fitzroy Pinnacle
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 30th August, 2025 @ 8:30pm
with Earth Cadet and She Weaves Grotesqueries
Hailing from Ballarat Victoria, dynamic trio ØTRERA blend a tight fusion of melodic metal and progressive rock to deliver high octane riffs and alluring melodies with an experimental flair. Check them out here https://www.instagram.com/otrera_aus
Earth Cadet is Bendigo, Victoria Australia's premier Alt-Rock act. The trio blend Grunge, Shoegaze and Post-Hardcore into a potent blend of killer rock songs, filled with anthemic hooks and jagged riffs. Their debut 2024 EP Tales From End drew accolades, radio play and playlist spots and their energetic and frantic live shows are quickly growing them a fervent local following. Check them out here
From Naarm/Melbourne, She Weaves Grotesqueries’ diverse soundscape is woven from a strange, dark aether. The group’s world is one of parallels; mirroring the misunderstood nature of a spider, the original seamstress of creations, with the familiarity of the human hand, SWG strives to capture the beauty within what is seen as grotesque. Blending gothic, progressive rock sensibilities with elements of metal, ambient, and electronica, the atmosphere SWG constructs draws from an era of folkloric storytelling, filtered through the amplified sonics of modern times. The Valery Trails - Winter Palace Launch Tour
THE VALERY TRAILS (QLD) at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 4th October, 2025 @ 8:30pm
with Signal Chain and Field Monuments
Brisbane indie rockers The Valery Trails bring their Winter Palace album launch tour to The Fitzroy Pinnacle, joined by Signal Chain and Field Monuments.
Andrew Bower (vocals/guitars), an expatriate Australian then living in Houston, enlisted his brother Sean Bower (bass) and Dan McNaulty (drums) in his hometown of Brisbane, Australia to form The Valery Trails in 2011. With the assistance of the internet and some intercontinental travel, the trio developed a set of songs started in Andrew's home studio into the band's debut album Ghosts and Gravity, released in 2012.
Albums released in 2014 (Buffalo Speedway) and 2016 (Chameleon Bones), to differing degrees also involved long distance recording and exchanges of ideas but when Andrew moved back to Brisbane in 2020 the band began to operate more conventionally, picking up new members Tim Steward (guitars) and Skye Staniford along the way. The first album for this new expanded lineup was 2022's The Sky is Blue, followed by Winter Palace in 2025.
Signal Chain are a sonic whirlwind of shoe gaze, straight garage rock and occasional folk/country leanings. Lipstick pick ups, sonic rumblings …
Field Monuments feature ex-members of 90s/00s stalwarts Skip Tracer and Deloris. Wide-screen, 90s indie-folk-post-rock songs about teenage memories, relationships crumbling, parenthood and new love.

Sonic Solidarities: Palestinian Relief Fundraiser Fest
Sonic Solidarities: Palestinian Relief Fundraiser Fest at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 6th July, 2025 @ 3:00pm
with Suzi, Baby Shower, DTUX, Beth Seymour and the Lizzies, I Extend My Arms, Overthinker and Strawberry Prince
SONIC SOLIDARITIES: a Palestinian Relief Fundraiser Fest The DIY indie-punk emos of narrm converge once again, this time on the Fitzroy Pinnacle, in solidarity with Palestinians experiencing genocide and ethnic cleansing at the hands of Israel and its material and diplomatic accomplices, including the Australian state. Help us raise much needed funds for the PCRF and Olive Kids, supporting Palestinian children facing bombardment, starvation, and displacement.
Providing the sounds of solidarity on the day are: Suzi, Baby Shower, DTUX, Beth Seymour and the Lizzies, Strawberry Prince, Overthinker, and I Extend My Arms.
Mornington Peninsula born-and-raised songstress Suzi is breathing new life into alternative Australiana folk-rock. Suzi's honest, destigmatising lurocosm touches on the heartbreaking reality of being young and mentally ill in this day and age.
Baby Shower are the bratty, self-aware disruptors of Melbourne's punk scene. They are equal parts chaos and charm, with a knack for spinning emotional angst into razor-sharp hooks. DTUX They're coming out of their cage and they're doing just fine - Melbourne's indie punk rock duo DTUX (Don't Text Ur Ex, if ya fancy) are back and ready to rock and/or roll at the Pinny.
The busiest woman in punk, Beth Seymour, has been mainstay of Melbourne's music scene across three decades. Equal parts Brody Dalle, Liz Stokes and Laura Jane Grace, the prolific writer/producer and proud trans-woman continues to release her idiosyncratic brand of alternative music, combining earnest lyricism, power-pop melodies and a punk attitude.
A five piece line up crowded with seasoned players. Overthinker will bumble their way into your heart with sheer force of sincerity. With a rollicking, rattling folk pop performance, Overthinker’s songs are wordy and winding snapshots of friendship, sociological frustration and the fight to stay kind in an unkind world
Strawberry Prince is the alter-ego of Canberra native and now Melbourne based Aidan Bairstow. Armed with just his voice and a sea-foam green guitar, Strawberry Prince writes songs that are equal parts silly and sincere, focusing on themes of love, loss, and the prospect of starting a new life with a group of aliens
Featuring members of Oh Daisy, Drive Safe, Turn South, and Strawberry Prince, I Extend My Arms are a post-rock band that evoke an entrancing, dream-like state through their highly emotive and contemplative wall-of-soundscapes.
This event is taking place on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded. The ongoing fight for Indigenous self-determination on this continent is the same struggle that Palestinians have been engaged in for more than 76 years.

Rhythm Machines ft. Double Vanity, Banish and Long Hours
Rhythm Machines ft. Double Vanity, Banish and Long Hours at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 19th July, 2025 @ 8:30pm
Banish: Humans and a drum machine residing in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Released during peak COVID 2020, their album 'Control Yourself' is a collection of 8 tracks backed by the minimal snap of a drum machine. The tracks capture the changing moods, the wistfulness and the far-away longings that accompany winter in the southern hemisphere.
Double Vanity: Melbourne three-piece Double Vanity are all dim lighting, velvet curtains and crystal tears. A dystopian dream within a dream into the virtual human centre toward a brave new world of ‘airportwave.’ Drama inducing synths, drippin' bass grooves and reverb soaked guitar. Out front, a delay drenched diva over the slow beating heart of the analogue drum machine.
Long Hours: is a solo performance project by artist and musician Julian Medor. Frequently coined as Lo-fi, no wave, synth punk, croon core or goth doo-wop, Long Hours’ live show is an impactful, frenetic experience inspired by frontmen such as Alan Vega (Suicide), Gabi Delgado (DAF) and Tuxedo Moon.

OSCAR LADELL & WILSON BLACKLEY at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 2nd August, 2025 @ 8:30pm
with Romaan
Born in the US and raised in Purākaunui, New Zealand, Oscar LaDell is a genre-blurring soul and blues artist whose voice carries the grit of tradition and the urgency of modern heartache. His latest EP No Blue, recorded in Castlemaine (Dja Dja Wurrung Country), is his most honest and affecting work to date — co-produced with Wilson Blackley and featuring co-written standouts like “Hurts The Same” and “Dream of You.”
Wilson Blackley, based in Naarm/Melbourne, is quickly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting young producer-artists. His debut EP Material Plane Part 1, produced by acclaimed collaborator Sensible J (Sampa The Great, REMI, Immy Owusu), blends intimate songwriting with boundary-pushing production. As well as Blackley’s debut single being co-produced by Sam Teskey (The Teskey Brothers). Having shared festival stages with the likes of The Teskey Brothers and Boy & Bear, Wilson’s star is fast on the rise — and his creative chemistry with LaDell is electric.
From photography to film to uniquely intimate melodies, Naarm local Romaan is always telling stories. Themes of mental health, struggling with self-worth and watching those around her ring through her raw work.

Please People at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Friday 4th July, 2025 @ 8:30pm
with Mollies Hug and Last Embers
Please People is Friend Funk. We are a Naarm-based 8-piece born in the lounge rooms and backyards of a close group of friends, united in bringing people together and getting them moving. After spending a year tuning our soul-spliced funky jams into a set of tight originals, we’ve been playing our great-time show to energetic crowds since May ’24. Now finally our debut single is released to the world! We had the best time supporting Fairtrade Narcotics with Dopplerhaus at The Pinnacle a few months ago, and are so stoked to be returning for our very own headline show with two awesome new acts.

Hugh F w. Ruby Milner and Justin J Kelly
Hugh F at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Thursday 3rd July, 2025 @ 8:30pm
with Ruby Milner and Justin J Kelly
Hugh F crafts tender, funny, and unflinchingly honest folk songs with the help of his velvet voice box and a finely tuned radar for life’s quiet absurdities. Singing started as a way to relax the tension in his throat — a physical release that, almost accidentally, became a way to document the odd joys and heartbreaks of growing up a farm boy on Dudhuroa Country.
Based in Naarm but spiritually stationed somewhere between a North East Victorian paddock and the Wodonga Plaza food court, Hugh has quietly built a loyal following across Australia and beyond. He’s toured nationally with Darren Hanlon, supported Chastity Belt in the U.S., and somehow gone viral singing about rats and horses. (This is not a metaphor.)
Hugh will be joined by Naarm’s new favourite singer — Ruby Milner, plus dear friend and absolute hit-machine — Justin J Kelly (FKA Swamp)

MATINEE: Albert Blank & Nelly Bardelle - Alive and Intimate at the Pinny
ALBERT BLANK at the Fitzroy Pinnacle
Saturday 10th May, 2025 @ 2:30pm
with Nelly Bardelle
Albert Blank writes sharp, satirical indie rock songs with a pop heart and a punk sneer. His debut single, produced by Cry Club’s Jono Tooke and mixed by Aaron Cupples (The Drones, Kirin J Callinan), features members of Moaning Lisa and was spun by Dave Graney on community radio. Think: Elvis Costello covering the Shirelles in a Melbourne sharehouse. Catch him live while the feedback’s still warm.

Nelly Bardelle marries the gorgeousness of Sufjan Stevens with the complexity of Joanna Newsom, weaving intricate electric guitar through folk melodies, baroque textures, and strange, beautiful chords. This is her debut show. It will be intimate, and it won’t be forgettable.
